Manuscripts

Manuscripts submitted for publication in this journal should not
have been published/accepted for publication elsewhere and should
be accompanied by a covering letter by the Corresponding author.
The Editorial Board reserves the rights of the articles published
in this Journal and articles should not be published or reproduced
in full or in part without permission. The Editorial Board reserves
the right of minor suitable alteration in the text as and when desired.
However, for
any major alteration, the opinion of the corresponding author shall
be obtained.
Preparation of Manuscripts
1. Manuscripts should be submitted in English in
a computer disks. Describe the software used, the type of computer
and any special (non-keyboard) characters used. Disks will not be
returned to Authors. Submission by e-mail is compulsory.
2. Two good quality copies of manuscript on white
bond paper of size 22 cm × 28 cm (A4 size) are required. They
should be neatly typed on one side only with double spacing and
liberal margins (5 cm above & on left). The version of disc
and written manuscript should be the same.
3. Pages are to be numbered serially and separate
pages should be used for Title & Short Title, Abstract, Key
words, Text and Acknowledgements, References, individual Tables
& Legends.
4. The title page should contain :
(i)
Short and indexable title
(ii)
Name and designation of authors
(iii)
Name and mailing address of corresponding author.
5. There should be a brief abstract of the whole article
within 200-250 words. Below the abstract 3–5 key words should
help in indexing the article.
6. Text should include Introduction, Material and
Methods, Results and Discussion. The subheadings however are not
mandatory. Actual methods and procedures are to
be detailed and supported by References. Submit CONSORT statement
while reporting RCT. Standard abbreviations are accepted, actual
units of measurement should be in metric or SI units and the text
should either be in American or British style with a uniform pattern
followed throughout the manuscript.
7. Photographs and disks should be sent in a heavy
paper envelope to avoid damage/ bending during mail handling.
Tables, Figures, Illustrations
1. They are to be cited in order in the text.
2. Each table should be in a separate sheet and
numbered, legends should be typed on the same sheet.
3. Standard plain drawings in black & white
Indian ink on white paper are to be used for graphs, chart, diagrams
& line diagrams.
4. Miniature photographs of x-rays, scans, tracings
and black & white clinical photographs should be numbered and
carry the Fig. No., title of article and arrow marking the top in
the back and for coloured illustrations authors have to bear the
cost of printing.
5. Legends for figures and illustrations should
be typed and double spaced on a separate sheet.
Reprints
Reprints have to be ordered in advance and the contributors have
to bear the necessary cost, fixed from time to time by the Editorial
Board.
References
1. References are to be completed at the end of
the article and to be numbered according to the citation in the
text.
2. Vancouver system is to be followed in preparing
the references. The abbreviation of the titles of the journals should
conform to those used in Index medicus and
Excerpta medica.
3. Number of references should be reaonable &
verified
by the authors.

Some Tips to revise the Manuscript
|
01. Submit revised version (one hard copy
with CDs) & submit by e-mail (jk_science1999@yahoo.com)
also.
02. Go through the comments of referees carefully.
03. Carry out all corrections.
04. Highlight the changes with some different
colour in revised manuscript.
05. If your data need to be re-analysed,
consult biostatistician.
06. Do not ignore any comment / remark /
query of the referees.
07. If you feel a comment / sauggestion by
the referee is incorrect / unacceptable, reply by explaining
the reasons..
08. Point-by-point explanation is a must. |
Scope of Journal :
JK Science is a Multi-disciplinary Medical Journal. It welcomes
articles from any medical specialty. It accepts, in English, Editorial
(Invited only), Review Articles, Original Articles, Case Reports,
Research letters, Drug Reviews, Images & New Horizons.
EDITORIAL POLICY:
Manuscripts for publication will be considered on their individual
merits. All accepted papers are subject to editorial changes. All
manuscripts will follow the under mentioned course:
1. Editorial review
2. Peer Review
3. Revision by Author if required
4. Provisional acceptance on successful revision
5. Final Acceptance
6. Publication
Hence your article may take an average time of 6-8 months before
it is published. You are welcome to ask/know status of your article
at any point of time.
